Reactivate your membership!

We’re excited to announce that from Wednesday 8 July, members will have the option to reactivate their membership. All current members will receive an email that includes a link to a reactivation form early next week. To reactivate your membership, all you need to do is fill out the form and submit it once you receive the email. 

We will continue suspending your membership if you do not wish to reactivate it or prefer booking and paying for each session.

As of Monday June 22nd, Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre has reopened. 

During this time access to the facility, programs and services will be charged through a session fee:

  • Swim | $5.80 per 45-minute session | Book now
  • Gym / Health Club | $11.00 per 50-minute session | Book now
  • Group Fitness | $11.00 per class | Book now
  • Casual Shooting | $5.80 per 50-minute session | Book now

All sessions must be pre-booked. You cannot attend the centre unless you have made a booking, this can be done via the website or by call the centre on (03) 9885 0333.
 
If you are unable to attend a booked session you can cancel your session through your booking confirmation email, or alternatively by calling us. With limited numbers of people able to access the facility at any one time, it is really important that you show let us know it you can’t make it so that the booking can be accessed by someone else.

Please ensure you bring with you a sweat towel and a refillable drink bottle. If you do not have a towel you will be unable to enter the centre.

We have missed providing you with the opportunity to get active, missed seeing your friendly faces come through the door, missed being part of your health and wellness journey. But the biggest thing we’ve missed is being able to connect with you, face to face, to be able to have a chat and enjoy the sense of community that the Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre creates. 
                                                    
As we reopen the centre the safety and wellbeing of members, staff and visitors continues to be our number one priority. 
 
The way we operate the facility is going to be different to how it was before, from pre-bookings your session, to additional safety and hygiene measures, these additional steps will ensure that everybody feels comfortable and safe to participate. 
 
The following facilities, programs and services are resuming on the 22 June:
·        Swimming Pools
·        Health Club
·        Group Fitness
·        Personal Training
·        Stadium – casual shooting

  • Your COVID-safe BLAF

    Your safety and the safety of our staff remains our number one priority, particularly throughout this period. To ensure our facility is COVID-safe and in line with the government’s health advice, we will be applying six safety measures across all the BLAF. On top of this, sites will have further safety measures in place to suit individual facilities. 

    • Temperature scanning. All patrons, visitors and staff will have their temperature taken before entering the facility. Anyone who displays a temperature of 38°C or higher without a reasonable cause will not be permitted to enter the facility.
    • Social distancing requirements. A distance of 1.5 metres between people will be required throughout facilities and programs. All spaces within the facility have been measured and 4 metres squared restrictions per space will be enforced. Staff, visitors and patrons will be counted as they enter and exit spaces and we have removed seats and equipment to ensure social distancing.
    • Signage and instructions. Throughout the facility, you will see signage and instructions on how patrons, visitors and staff can be COVID-safe. Hygiene signage and floor, seat and bench decal stickers have been installed to assist patrons and visitors with physical distancing requirements.
    • Increased hygiene and cleaning. You will find hand sanitiser at entry and exit points, as well as in high traffic areas and shared spaces.  We have increased our cleaning, with regular cleaning and sanitation of high traffic areas and shared spaces.
    • Training for staff. All staff have completed the Department of Health COVID-safe training, as well as additional training provided by YMCA Victoria. We have also provided additional training for specific roles to ensure all programs and services that occur within the facility are COVID-safe. 
    • Process for a confirmed case. In the event of a confirmed COVID-19 case, we have an eight-step plan in place to ensure reporting, tracing and cleaning occurs before the facility reopens. Everyone who enters our facilities will have their details recorded to assist with case tracing.
  • Cleaning and hygiene

    When you arrive at the Centre, the first thing you will notice is hand sanitiser at all entry and exit points, with the expectation that all staff, patrons and visitors sanitise their hands before entering. Hand sanitiser will also be available throughout the centre and in bathrooms. 

     
    The entire facility will be cleaned every 24 hours and high touch points, such as doors, toilets and gym equipment, will be cleaned regularly throughout the day. Patrons and visitors are expected to wipe down equipment with antibacterial wipes before and after use, and staff will also be wiping down equipment regularly. 
     
    All patrons and visitors are expected to follow our COVID-safe hygiene practices. If a patron or visitor does not comply with our safety measures, they will politely be asked by a staff member to leave the facility.

  • Process for confirmed COVID-19 case

    Our staff have been trained to ensure that if there is a confirmed case at the centre, they have the tools and resources to close the facility safely. Once patrons and visitors have been notified, we will conduct a decontamination clean prior to reopening. 

     
    Please do not visit the centre if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, tiredness, cold, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath or headache. 
     
    If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please seek medical attention and be checked for COVID-19 at one of the testing stations across the state.

Please note: Kew Recreation Centre will remain closed, as the centre is about to undergo an exciting redevelopment to provide the community with a modern, state-of-the-art facility catering to all ages and abilities.
